Ruin
My exam piece from A'levels. The subject matter is taken from photographs I shot of a ruined factory on an industrial estate near where I live which were collaged together to make interesting forms and shapes and to give the painting structure. I managed to get an 'A' grade for this and all my other A'level work for which I owe a huge debt of thanks to my excellent teacher Ms Newall. Whenever she asked me to explain my paintings she would always comment afterwards that I was 'F.O.S'. I won't explain what that means!
